1. Roommate Matchmaker

As a Roommate Matchmaker, you will manage your assigned territory and the client experience through every step of their process. Your expertise and guidance advocating for your customer assures their satisfaction and success.

Matchmakers are responsible for:

  • Scouting assigned apartment inventory, which includes photographing, pricing, and generating video tours
  • Advertising available rooms on third party sites and among Perfect Strangers’ website leads, in addition to managing associated communications from potential clients in a timely manner
  • Scheduling and conducting in-person or video chat showings of rooms to interested parties, and evaluating their room and roommate needs
  • Sharing next steps with all parties interested in considering an available room, and managing the process of financial pre-qualifying candidates for lease application
  • If not a certified real estate agent in the state of New York, matchmakers must collaborate with the Sales Manager on completing the lease application process through the landlord or management company until they have received their license
  • Ensure receipt and delivery of all payments, keys, and paperwork to the appropriate parties involved in the lease signing process
  • Update the Sales Manager(s), and other internal staff when necessary, on all pending tasks, clients, and potential deals

The Qualities We’re Looking For:

  • NY Licensed Real Estate Agent (not mandatory, but a huge plus)
  • Passionate about New York City lifestyle
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to work independently – and nights & weekends occasionally to accommodate client schedules
  • Ability to communicate to team members and all appropriate departments
  • Enthusiastic towards exceeding goals
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Natural networker both physically and digitally, utilizing social media marketing strategies
  • Sensitive to the diverse needs of others and committed to providing solutions
  • Possess honesty and integrity worthy of a client’s trust


  • 40% commission off of total revenue brought in, plus performance bonuses
