FAQ

How much does it cost to use your service?

The majority of our rooms are no fee, which means the landlord covers the cost of our service, making it free! However, for some select rooms the landlord does not cover our service so we collect a fee at the time of lease signing equal to one month’s rent. All the rooms displayed on our site will be labelled as fee or no fee, so you know in advance the cost of our service.

How much is the deposit you collect for reserving a room?

After you’ve been matched with roommates, and are ready to apply for a lease, we collect a deposit equal to 1 month’s rent to remove your room from our inventory. Once your lease is signed, the deposit is applied towards either your security deposit or our 1 month fee (if the landlord is not covering the cost of our service).

What do I typically have to pay the landlord when signing a lease?

It can vary from landlord to landlord, but typically when signing a lease you will need to pay first month’s rent and a security deposit equal to one month of rent. Many landlords will require you to pay via a bank certified check. Our Roommate Matchmakers will advise further on the specific landlord payments required for any room you decide to tour.

What is the price range of your rooms?

The majority of our rooms range from $800-$1800/month, however apartment pricing is dictated by the landlord.

How long does your matchmaking process take?

On average, the matching process takes around 2 weeks. We recommend starting your room search 1 month before your desired move date. However, depending on your room and roommate preferences the process can take as quick as 1 week or up to 1 month.

How do you match people to live in an apartment together?

Roommates are matched based on lifestyle and financial compatibility. We use a custom-made questionnaire to determine each roommates living preferences and financially prequalify every client to ensure they are matched with roommates that are likely to be approved for a lease. We also facilitate introductions prior to lease signing to ensure all potential roommates feel comfortable and compatible before moving in together.
